How well are you keeping up with the Paris Olympics? Here are eight viral moments from this year’s games:

The Olympic shooters are gaining massive popularity for their insane aura and main character energy. Kim Yeji, a 31-year-old South Korean sharpshooter, has taken social media by storm after she won silver at the women’s 10m air pistol eve, donning a sci-fi assassin look. Her cap and futuristic glasses, though merely functional accouterments in the world of competitive shooting, had even Elon Musk comment on X that Kim should be cast in an action movie.

And on the other side of the spectrum, Turkish air pistol shooter Yusuf Dikec, who also won a silver medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol event, is going viral for his minimal gear. Many of the shooters were decked out in specialized gear, including special goggles, lenses to avoid blur, and ear protectors for noise. Dikec redefined casual confidence when he appeared in prescription glasses and normal ear plugs, and went on to win the silver with one hand in his pocket.

And speaking of main character energy, this legendary shot of Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina is going viral as he appears to levitate above the waves just as he set an Olympic record in Tahiti. Jerome Brouillet, the photojournalist who shot the iconic picture, even has the official Olympics page calling to hang it in the Louvre.

These images of Olympic table tennis players from North and South Korea are hailed as a rare show of cross-border unity amid a time of simmering tensions. After South Korea won bronze and North Korea silver in the mixed doubles behind China, South Korea’s Lim Jong-hun took a group photo after the medal ceremony. Lim Jong-hun was probably sharing his joy as the happiest person on the court, as the 27-year-old will now be exempted from his mandatory military service that was to commence next month. If he (didn't get) hadn’t gotten the bronze medal, he would have had to serve 18 months with the military. Now, he is free to be a full-time athlete or coach of his sport.

Would you be upset if your husband lost his wedding ring in a river? Probably. But while Italian high jumper and flagbearer Gianmarco Tamberi seems to have done just that, his public romantic apology was surely enough to make up for it. In a post on Instagram, he apologized to his wife in Italian for losing his ring in the Seine. He said that if he had to lose the ring, he couldn’t imagine a better place. "It will stay forever in the riverbed of the city of love," he said. “And if you want, we’ll throw yours into that river too so they’ll be together forever, and we’ll have one more excuse to, like you for always asked, renew our vows and get married anew." Maybe love is real, guys.
