triangle Listen & Repeat 듣고 따라하기 Ouça e repita Escuchar y repetir [ ? ]

Listen & Repeat

This activity has two purposes.

The first purpose is to improve listening accuracy. Learners can often understand the general meaning of a video but still not hear and understand many of the words that are said. This is because native speakers tend to say the functional words unclearly. (eg. don’t know, going to, want to, can’t, must have) This activity is designed to help learners improve their ability to hear these words.

TIP: Learners should listen, and then try to repeat exactly what they hear. Then they should click “Show” and read the sentence. After reading the sentence, learners should listen again and try to hear each word.

The second purpose is to improve pronunciation.

TIP: Learners should listen to and read the sentences at the same time. Then learners should try to copy the pronunciation and intonation of the speaker exactly.

TIP: Exaggerating the intonation and feeling of the speaker is useful. It may feel awkward or funny, but it will help you sound more natural.

Escuchar y Repetir

Ouvir e repetir

Esta atividade tem dois propósitos.

O primeiro objetivo é melhorar a precisão auditiva.

O segundo objetivo é melhorar a pronúncia.

DICA: os alunos devem ouvir e ler as frases ao mesmo tempo. Em seguida, os alunos devem tentar copiar exatamente a pronúncia e a entonação do falante.

DICA: É útil exagerar na entonação e no sentimento do falante. Pode parecer estranho ou engraçado, mas ajudará você a soar mais natural.

Nadine: Have you nearly finished, Roy?

Roy: Yeah.

Nadine: You are taking a very long time.

Roy: It is a very complacated problem. You have a lot of chabaranks in your hard drive. I'll get them out eventually. Frustrating! Come on! Work! Work!

Kimberly: Nadine, do you know anything about digital cameras?

Nadine: Roy might.

Roy: I do, as it happens. I'm an amateur photographer, actually.

Kimberly: I've just got this new one, but it's really complicated.

Roy: Oh. That's fixed.

Nadine: What was wrong with it?

Roy: It wasn't turned on.

Kimberly: Oh I don't even know why I got rid of my old one. It was working perfectly fine.

Roy: Yeah, well, these all look good. What's going on with this fella? Look at him! He's pulling a mad face, he looks completely mental!

Kimberly: That's Dave, my brother. He's got a very serious condition.

Roy: When I said mental there, I meant mental in the sense of intelligent. You know, like he's a big reader.

Kimberly: He has boss-eyedness.

Roy: Boss-eyedness?

Kimberly: He's permanently boss-eyed.

Roy: That must be a big pain in the arse.

Kimberly: It is, and the terrible thing is people think there's actually something funny about this.

Roy: No! Who could think there's something funny about this?

Kimberly: It's a proper condition, and he really suffers. He really...

Roy: Oh, hey.

Kimberly: I'd just give anything if Dave could have a normal life.

Roy: Oh, hey, now.

Nadine: Kimberly, are you OK?

Kimberly: It's just Dave.

Nadine: Oh, poor Dave. Hey, I've got a great idea. Why don't we all try and do something to raise money for people like Dave? Yeah, we must be able to think of something, like a fun run!

Roy: That's a good idea.

Kimberly: Or a nude calendar.

Roy: That's maybe even a better idea than the fun run idea!

Kimberly: We could call it The Girls of the Seventh Floor.

Roy: Yes! Yes! It's a very strong theme!

Kimberly: Roy could be the photographer.

Roy: I could do the photographs because I said I was an amateur photographer!

Nadine: Come on, let's do a brainstorm. I'd like to be November if that's OK.

Girl: Can I be April?

Nadine: Yes!

Girl: And on October, we've got to have a Halloween theme
