Mark Carney is set to take off for Europe today in what is his first overseas visit as Prime Minister. Carney will be meeting with French President
Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his two-day visit.
At least 59 people are now confirmed dead after a fire at a nightclub in North Macedonia. Fire crews worked to bring the blaze under control. It happened
around 2 AM local time in a town east of the capital, Skopje. Video from the night club shows sparks from pyrotechnics igniting the ceiling above the band.
Officials say about 155 are injured and are being treated in local hospitals. Police have issued arrest warrants for four people.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says strikes on Yemen will continue until the Houthis no longer exist. Rubio appeared on CBS News Face the Nation this
morning, saying the large-scale strikes by the US are about stopping the Houthi's ability to attack global shipping and the US Navy.
And finally in Peru. A fisherman describes eating cockroaches, turtles, and birds to survive after spending 95 days lost in the Pacific Ocean. Maximo Napa set
off from the coastal town of Marcona on December 7th. 10 days into his trip, stormy weather threw him off course. On Wednesday, he was scooped up by an Ecuadorian
vessel over 1000 km off Peru's coast. He says thoughts of his family, including his two-month-old granddaughter, helped him to survive.
