This is World Report. Good morning. I'm Marcia Young.

The US commerce secretary this morning hinting all that effort may result in a compromise on Donald Trump's tariff stance. Howard Lutnick told Bloomberg TV (that) the US President has been listening to suggestions from Mexico and Canada about easing up on certain sectors, including the auto industry. Lutnick added full reciprocal tariffs worldwide will still kick in April 2nd.

China is retaliating. Beijing says it will impose additional tariffs of 15% on imports of US farm products. They include chicken, pork, soy, and beef. China's tariffs will take effect on March 10th. Other American agricultural products will also face an extra 15% levy. Beijing has also placed 10 more American companies on its unreliable list. That means they will not be able to do business in China.

For years, cancer was thought of as a disease affecting the very old or the very young. But researchers say there is a steady increase in some cancers among young adults between 18 and 39 years old. Some health care providers are making that growing need a priority.
